The Phonological Word in Najdi Arabic

Numerous studies on Arabic linguistics make reference to the phonological word (PW) as a constituent that serves domain for various phenomena, however, there is no clear and precise definition in literature of what actually constitutes PW whether it consists just bare morphological stem or includes affixes well. The purpose this paper gain better understanding status Najdi (NA), variety spoken Najd, located central region Saudi Arabia. Affixation other processes are thoroughly investigated examine how they interact with an attempt give accurate PW. Using syllabification stress placement reliable diagnostic tools, addition processes, concluded NA including all (i.e. prefixes suffixes, both inflectional derivational) functions words (e.g., prepositions).
